Children who can control their impulse to be the center of the
universe, and -- relatedly -- who can assume the perspective of
another person, are better equipped to learn.

I know the odds are against it, but I hope he decides to give Marvin
some kind of power. Like said in an earlier post, that's the only way
we'll ever progress. Mikey will never get a top tier coach, and I
don't think we can honestly do any better than Marvin. Maybe with the
diva's gone, just maybe Carson will regain that California Cool he had
earlier in his career and stop racking his brain, wondering who's ego
he has to feed on the next possession.

A more general thesis about the basic disappointment of the Internet:
It ultimately evolves only where it meets human desire, which itself
is geared for life circa 200 b.c. If the Internet ultimately
disappoints, it's because it was made for humans. Give us instant
connection to everyone and the ability to collaborate in vast seamless
networks and we spend 99 percent of those resources telling everyone
what kind of oatmeal we ate for breakfast and 1 percent of it building
Wikipedia.
